As everybody knows, 2016 has been the 400 anniversary of Shakespeare's death. There have been a lot of events to celebrate such important date. And so, has Oxford University Press . They have launched a Contest called "All the World's a Stage"(As You Like It,Act II, Scene VII) in which the contestants, always from a school and led by their teachers, have to perform a part of any of Shakespeare's plays adapted by the publishing house. The prize is a weekend in London for the class and the attendance at a Shakespeare’s play at the mythical theatre “The Globe.”
One of the books we usually read along the year is very often an adaptation of a play by William Shakespeare. This year it was the turn of Macbeth. We have not only read it but also study the background of the story, the age in wihch it was written... And we even watched some parts of the performances made so far. Then, we were presented the contest and as tutor of 2º ESO A,we decided to take part. After rewriting the three last scenes, the whole class performed our particular version and vision of Macbeth in the "recording studio" of Cora TV . Once recorded ,edited and put together, it was uploaded to youtube and the only thing needed from the 17th of May until the 31st is to get as many votes as possible. The jury chooses among the 10 most voted videos and at the beginning of June, we'll be told which one has won. Let's cross our fingers !!
